The Traitor
An ancient kingdom, ravaged by war and nature,
It's men and women, children long since vanquished.
I stand at it's crest, the range of mountains impass,
My brother has turned, he's gone and twisted his mind.
Inconsequential, but memorable, he said nothing,
As he turned from light to dark.
Brothers no more, we are enemies to the death,
Our childhood fights from memory burn bright.
Gone are our bonds,
Our trusts and our faith,
You chose to abandon our fight,
Abrasive, obstructive.
Gone is our friendship,
Our nuances that set us together,
You picked the easy way out,
Cowardly, weak.
This kingdom abandoned, it's empty shell apparent,
Can it be revived? I doubt it, there's no survivors.
Looking for a way down, rocks jagged and lethal,
I see a cave, once lit, by torch and by fire.
Once soldiers apace, now echoes water drop,
Abandoned all hope, killed, lost.
The power we fought against, this power evident,
His force passed on to my brother, the traitor.
Lost is our brotherhood,
Our loyalty, burned to dust,
Abandoned us, for the sake,
For the easy out, the darkness,
Offers you a place to hide.
You picked the easy way out.
Cowardly, weak.
Now I swear, on the memory of this kingdom,
I will hunt you down,
You are the new embodiment, the focus,
You are the next on my list,
I'll kill you, you'd better be waiting.
I take no pleasure.
I fear that darkness will consume me like it did you.
It's men and women, children long since vanquished.
I stand at it's crest, the range of mountains impass,
My brother has turned, he's gone and twisted his mind.
