Halloween Party
Ok, so it can only loosely be called that, as there was no real Halloween theme to it, just a bunch of people going to a place to drink and laugh. Still, one or two made the effort and came in fancy dress. I was going to be dressing up as Meatloaf myself, but I couldn't afford the wig. So, as the co-host of the evening, I decided that going as myself would be adequate. For a party with only seven participants, it was fairly lively, and there was soon a photograph taking session in progress. Rhee and Keith were willing participants in this, despite not taking any themselves. Still, not to worry, We took enough ourselves to make up for it. Accident number one was to come, as I went in for a photo opportunity with Lorna, I knocked the soon to be infamous cabinet, knocking a few things off it. It's hard to imagine a party going so well despite half of its participants becoming engrossed on an Xbox 360 game, but surprisingly, it worked well. I was acting as a barman for the evening, plying my guests with alcohol and penguins. Oh, and of course, no party is complete without those party ring biscuit things. Once people had grown tired of taking pictures of each other, attention turned to stealing Lorna's socks. Admittedly she put up a fight, but she was no match for Frank, Khris and myself. There was no purpose for stealing her socks, other than the fact that they were orange and black, and caught our attention somewhat too easily. Nevertheless, she was sockless for a while, until we got bored of trying to think of something funny to do with them, and we gave them back.
Next up, impromptu tickle wars. I did well to avoid this for as long as I could, swiftly getting myself onside with the attackers, (namely Lorna and Khris), while Lorna tickled Becky. This is where I thought I'd make my move. I tickled Lorna to the best of my abilities, until I learned that she wasn't ticklish. This proved to be my first mistake of the night. Not that I knew it immediately however, I was given time to sit on a beach chair, before I was grabbed by Khris, and Lorna got her revenge. Cue accident number two. I struggled so much that I tipped the chair onto its side and body-checked a cabinet which had my glass of alcohol sitting too close to the edge. Down it went, along with some ornamental action figures, and some random glass things. I was soaked and was stuck wedged in between the cabinet and the chair. Ouch. Once the wreckage had been cleared, I stood up, and my clothes were covered in alcohol. So I went to get changed, naturally. Soon, people were beginning to leave, as it was getting quite late. Not that it stopped myself, Lorna and Khris from continuing the party, although we were getting somewhat tired by that point, this made notably obvious by the fact that Khris had gotten into bed. Still, this wasn't going to prove the end of the night just yet, as Lorna and I decided to pester him for a while.
Eventually, after much muted laughter and whispered jokery, I was getting tired myself, as was Lorna, so we headed for bed. I was fully content with sleeping on a comfy chair, to let Lorna sleep in my bed, but she refused the offer, insisting that she wouldn't let me give my bed up for her. In the end, after a quiet debate, we compromised, and decided to go top and tails in the bed. But as we got into the bedroom, that plan went out the window, and we both got at the same end of the bed. Not very comfortable given the size of the bed, which was smaller than a single. I know what you might well be possibly thinking, and I can tell you that you're wide of the mark. I did my utmost to make sure Lorna got her sleep. I wasn't too bothered about sleeping myself, but dozed off anyway, in a particularly uncomfortable position, which involved my arm being either pushed right into my chest, or behind my head. I had some weird dreams, some of which were strangely lucid. There was a land rover in one, a strange countryside pub that had no people in it, and even more strangely, Lorna was in all of them. Not doing anything in particular, she was just there, kinda alongside me, taking part in the dreams. Needless to say, I woke up confused, and quizzed Lorna on whether any of the strange and obscure occurrences actually happened. It seems they didn't. Good job really, I don't like land rovers that much.
