The Musical Man
For Grandad.
The musical man, heart of song to kin and peer,
Now plays his tune to the ones above,
Winged saviours of song we all hear.
He walks again, never walking alone,
Amongst cloud and star, his song now flows,
Our beloved bard, gave us dreams of our own.
A heart of gold is but a cheap gift, to compare,
His is made up of the love of all he knew,
Puts that solitary phrase to shame, be aware.
A mans hard graft stays once he leaves this plane,
His family, his wife, all mark his depart,
A legacy is grown, build from bare hand, our gain.
The family grows in number and in strength,
Little granddaughter unborn, to dear wife, my dear nan,
He will watch down on us, from beyond, at length.
So hear these words, dear family, we are together,
United as one, dismiss past misdemeanor,
We are here for each other, always and forever.
Now plays his tune to the ones above,
Winged saviours of song we all hear.
He walks again, never walking alone,
Amongst cloud and star, his song now flows,
Our beloved bard, gave us dreams of our own.
